The journaling is in German. It's a conversation Dagmar recently had with her daughter Lena:

Lena: "Mommy, did it hurt when I came out of your tummy?"
Dagmar:"Yes, but the midwife who helped me said 'Look who's here'and I looked down and I saw your head and your eyes were open and then it didn't matter anymore that it hurt".
Lena:"Yeah, my eyes were open because I wanted to see if daddy was there."
Dagmar:"Aha, you didn't want to know if I was there?"
Lena:"Mom, I saw your legs, so I already know that you were there, I wanted to check if daddy came with us."
